  • products, quantities, specifications, and service preferences;
  • quotation requests, enquiries, and customer-support communications;
  • artwork, logos, photographs, names, and files supplied for production;
  • payment status, transaction references, payment channel, and related records;
  • return, cancellation, refund, warranty, or dispute information;
  • consent and communication preferences; and
  • technical information such as IP address, device or browser information, security events, cookies, and website usage data.

Keemsy does not receive or store a customer's complete card number or card security code through its website. Online payments are handled by Paystack and the relevant payment provider.

3. How we collect personal data

We collect data:

  • directly from you when you submit a form, place an order, upload a file, make a payment, or contact us;
  • automatically through essential cookies, logs, and website technologies; and
  • from payment, delivery, communications, or other service providers involved in fulfilling your request.

4. Why we use personal data

We use personal data where necessary to:

  • provide quotations and respond to enquiries;
  • process, produce, deliver, and support orders;
  • prepare and verify customer-approved artwork;
  • process and verify payments and refunds;
  • prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents;
  • handle returns, cancellations, warranty claims, and disputes;
  • communicate service information and customer-support responses;
  • maintain accounting, transaction, and business records;
  • improve our website, products, and customer experience; and
  • comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

Depending on the circumstances, our processing is based on performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate business interests, or your consent where consent is required.

5. Artwork and customer-supplied content

We use artwork, logos, photographs, names, and other supplied content only as reasonably necessary to quote, prepare, produce, and fulfil the customer's order, resolve a related issue, or retain records required for legitimate business or legal purposes.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have the rights and permissions necessary to provide submitted materials.

6. Payments

Online payments are processed through Paystack and the relevant bank, mobile-money operator, or card network. Those providers process data under their own privacy notices and security practices.

Keemsy may retain transaction references, payment status, amount, payment channel, and reconciliation records, but does not receive or store complete card credentials through the website.

7. Sharing personal data

We do not sell personal data.

We may share only the information reasonably necessary with trusted service providers, including:

  • payment processors and financial-service providers;
  • delivery and logistics providers;
  • website hosting, content, security, storage, and communications providers;
  • professional advisers, auditors, or insurers; and
  • public authorities or other parties where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, customers, or the business.

Service providers are expected to handle personal data for the relevant service and with appropriate safeguards.

8. International data transfers

Some technology or payment providers may process or store data outside Kenya. Where personal data is transferred outside Kenya, we will use safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.

9. Cookies and website technologies

The website may use essential cookies and similar technologies for checkout, cart functionality, security, fraud prevention, and other core operations. Where optional analytics or similar technologies are used, we will provide appropriate information and choices where required.

10. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including order fulfilment, customer service, accounting and tax records, fraud prevention, legal obligations, and dispute resolution.

Different records may have different retention periods. When information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymise, or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure. No electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Subject to applicable Kenyan law, you may have the right to:

  • access personal data held about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or misleading data;
  • object to certain processing;
  • request deletion of false or misleading data;
  • request restriction of processing in applicable circumstances;
  • receive or transfer certain data in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

You may also raise a complaint with Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner where applicable.

13. Children's data

The store is not directed to children. A person submitting personal data or placing an order must be legally able to do so or act with the involvement of an authorised parent or guardian where required.

14. Third-party websites

Our website may link to third-party websites or services. Their handling of personal data is governed by their own privacy policies, and Keemsy is not responsible for their independent practices.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, technology, legal requirements, or business practices. The latest version will be published on this page with its effective date.
